 BORROWED WALLS — OUT AUGUST 10

Everybody’s waiting for the moment somebody finally gets even. This song is about the person who doesn’t.

“Borrowed Walls” came out of an idea we keep circling back to: the most powerful thing a person can do is the generous thing, in the exact spot where nobody would blame them for doing the opposite — and then never say a word about it. No speech. No credit. Just done.

It’s the kind of song that doesn’t raise its voice. Give it one listen with the lights low.

We’ve had a good run of new songs this summer, and a few are already fighting for a spot in the release schedule:

“The Verdict Is In” — a small-town story about a man who lets a rumor stand and quietly rules in his wife’s favor anyway. Thirty years of breakfasts across the same table.

“I Wrote It Up As Stolen” — a repo man hooks a truck at two in the morning, sees a car seat in the back, and makes a decision that costs him.

“Baseball Has It All” — because sometimes a song just needs to be nine innings of pure fun. This one’s already making us grin.

 SHORTS, CLIPS, AND SHORT STORIES

If you like the songs but don’t always have four minutes, come find us at Rick Lee Vinson Presents on YouTube — plus Instagram and TikTok. New clips go up all week, and “I Shared a Drink with the Devil” is still running away with the lead over there.

Every song here was written by us and recorded in Nashville with live musicians in the room. Real players, real stories. That will never change.

This month brings two new releases, each built around the same idea — that nobody's story is as small as they think it is:

This one's about a letter that crosses the distance between a superstar and an ordinary fan, and the moment he realizes it was never really a distance at all. You don't have to be famous to be unforgettable. You're already a star.

THE GIRL ON THE BENCH
Some regrets don't announce themselves — they just sit there, quiet, waiting at a bus stop long after the bus is gone. This is a song about the distance we build ourselves, and what it costs to look back and see it clearly.

COMING SOON — NEW SONG
We've been back in the writing room on something we're calling "The Girl in the Lighthouse" — a song about being the steady light somebody keeps finding their way home by. More on that very soon.

I SHARED A DRINK WITH THE DEVIL A cinematic spaghetti western showdown. A lone rider, a shadowed figure, and two men standing at the edge of something irreversible. The song never tells you who won. It doesn't have to. This one was built for the screen — and the right people are starting to notice.

SCARED TO MAKE IT INTERESTING What if the only thing standing between you and something real is fear? This one lives in that fragile space where someone wants to let you in but can't quite get there. The last one left a scar. But honey, I ain't him.

COMING SOON — NEW SONG We've been in the writing room, and something special is taking shape. A song about winning without ever knowing you won. About the guy who showed up every day and somewhere along the way realized the game was never about the trophy. More on that very soon.
