A girl takes off the little painted stone she wears around her neck and hands it over — black on one side, blue on the other, worth nothing to anyone else. Then comes the night that splits a life in two, and somewhere in the years that follow the stone goes missing along with everything else. The bridge finds him painting it from memory, and finding her there. The last chorus moves the price off the stone and onto her.
